Robert E. Powell, DDS
A practicing general dentist in Asheville for more than 30 years, Dr. Powell's passion is helping patients achieve a beautiful, healthy smile. His expertise extend to performing more than 5,000 CEREC procedures and earning certification as a Lumineers® provider.
His interest in dentistry began while he was studying biology at Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tenn. He went on to earn his D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from the School of Dentistry at Loma Linda University in California.
In 1974, Dr. Powell opened a private practice in the heart of historic Biltmore Village. Hurricane Frances demolished that office in 2004. So while working out of temporary quarters, he planned and furnished the state-of-the-art facility he practices in today.
Committed to providing the best, most advanced dental care, Dr. Powell keeps up to date on advances in the dental field and enhances his skills by attending courses in cosmetics, prosthodontics and endodontics. He has studied with some of the country's leading dental authorities, such as Dr. Dan Poticny, Dr. Robert Conrad and Dr. Peter K. Dawson. Dr. Powell is currently taking advanced studies with leading industry programs such as Tulsa Dental, and the National Dental Network.
Dr. Powell is a member of several professional organizations including the Buncombe County Dental Society, the North Carolina Dental Society and the American Dental Association. He is a founding member of the Western North Carolina CEREC Study Club and an active member of the Academy of CAD/CAM Dentistry (ACCD).

Kelly is likely to be the first person you speak to when you call the office and the first smiling face you see when you come for your appointment. A certified dental assistant, Kelly's more than 14 years of dental experience means your dental issues are understood immediately when you contact our office. Kelly's background and education allow her to ascertain the services you need and schedule you correctly. Kelly is a graduate of Asheville-Buncombe Technical College and is radiology certified.
Christy McEntyre
Dental Assistant
A desire to learn the latest advancements in dental care and technology are what first attracted Christy to Asheville Dental Care. A native of Burnsville, Christy received her dental education at Mayland Community College and Western Piedmont. Christy's interest in CEREC dentistry make her a perfect fit for our office and her gentle nature make her a favorite with patients and her fellow team members. Christy brings more than five years experience to her role working side-by-side assisting Dr. Powell with patient care.
Brandi Ball
Hygienist
Brandi brings commitment to patient care and continuous learning to her work with Asheville Dental Care. Trained in both the areas of dental assisting and dental hygiene, Brandi graduated in 2005 from Asheville Buncombe Technical College with an Associates Degree of Science in Dental Hygiene. Upon graduation she was awarded the prestigious Hu-Friedy Golden Scholar Award for Clinical and Academic Excellence. Her desire to remain a leader in the field of dental technology, is what first brought her to Asheville Dental Care. She is well reguarded by her patients and her teammates for the talent she has of combining her exceptional skill set with a warm, friendly relationship with her patients.
Jen Greene
Hygienist
Jen arrived at Asheville Dental Care with 15 years experience in dental hygiene. She is a 1995 graduate of Darton College in Albany Georgia, with an Associate of 
Science Degree. Jen had a desire to make Asheville Dental Care her professional home after her first visit to the office, due to the up-to-date work environment and great team atmosphere. "Where we all agree, the patients care comes first." Jen's love of dental hygiene fuels her desire to provide an important service to our patients. She enjoys the opportunity to help our patients understand why complete oral care is so beneficial to their overall health.
Karen Greene
Office Administrator
Karen brings management, organizational development and marketing experience to her role as our office administrator. Described by her co-workers as someone who loves a challenge, is great with people and does a job right the first time, Karen leads our team in project and systems management. A must have position for any dental office committed to quality! The professionalism and great technical advancements are what first interested Karen in Asheville Dental Care. The commitment to patient care and her team of co-workers are what keep her here.
